It is important to make sure both moms and dads as well as kids are getting enough protein in their diets. Why is protein important? Protein is the main building block for muscle, skin, hair, nails and other organs. It is also important for growth and development during childhood, adolescence, and pregnancy and is vital for proper immune function.
What should your protein intake look like? Take your weight in pounds and divide by 2.2. This will give you your weight in kilograms. Multiply this number by .8 to determine your daily requirement.
